ASMAHAN
is from Argentina and has worked as a professional dancer in Egypt for many
years, she is today one of the most famous dancers in Egypt. Asmahan started
studying classical ballet when she was 6 years old. When she was 14 she
started studying Spanish and Flamenco and by the time she was 16 she had
moved on to dance the Oriental dance. Asmahan soon became a professional
Oriental dancer in Argentina and all over the world, where she has been
performing in five star hotels and for Royalty and Diplomats. She has appeared
on TV and Media worldwide, she has also worked with many famous artistes.
She has danced at many of the five star hotels in Cairo,the Conrad Hotel,
Semiramis Intercontinental, Meridian, Sheraton Montaza Cairo Sheraton to
name a few and currently dances on the Nile Maxim Cruising Restaurant in
Cairo. She also travels a lot worldwide to dance and teach and is booked
to come to JOY in October this year organised by Mandy and Chris. |

| LUBNA
EMAM is from Cairo and she started to Oriental dance when she was nine years
old in the Egyptian Kaomeya School Troupe. She has been travelling the world
most of her life, performing with the Kaomeya Troupe and other groups. Lubna
has also worked with the famous belly dancer Nagwa Fuad. When she returned
to Egypt some years ago she stopped performing and started teaching the
Oriental dance to Egyptian and foreign dancers. Now she is travelling the
world teaching Classical Oriental dances and Folklore dances.Lubna has a
very distinct style with very powerful 'heavy' movements, she is appreciated
for her interpretation of the Saiidi Style. she has travelled to England
a number of times to teach and dance. |

MOHAMED
KAZAFY is from Cairo and has been dancing with the world famous Reda Troupe
of Egypt for 17 years. After initially training with the troupe's founder
Mahmoud Reda and the legendary principle female dancer Farida Fahmy, he
went on to perform with the Reda Troupe worldwide. Kazafy remains one of
their principle soloists. He also teaches and dances in Egypt and worldwide
and he is one of the dancers from the Farha Tour organised by Kay Taylor
here in England. |

| KHALED
MAHMOUD is from Cairo, now living here in England, started dancing when
he was 7 years old, dancing at weddings and parties. He studied ballet for
six years, when he finished college he took belly dancing lessons with Abrahim
Akef and many master teachers in Cairo. Before becoming an Oriental teacher
himself he worked at the Maade Club and on M/S Alexander. He likes the style
of dancers Naima Akif, Samia Gamel, Lucy, Fifi Abdou and Dena. He has danced
along side of many of the top dancers.He now teaches and dances worldwide
and can teach all styles of the Oriental dance. |

YASSER
AL-SWERY is a singer from Syria and is the President of International Association
of Artists in Egypt, he began his singing career when he was a child, he
won the first prize at a musician's competition between Aleppo (his native
land) singing schools. Later , when he was 11 years old he won a singing
competition among the Syrian schools. After graduation Yasser continued
to take private classes of vocal art and along with other singers formed
a singing group named 'Rubai shabeb el-tarab' together they performed at
concerts and wedding in Syria and Lebanon. Yasser is now a soloist and has
performed with George Eassuf, Nagwa Karam, Aasy Khilyany and Nour Mhanna.
Today he performs at weddings, parties, concerts, at Gala shows of festivals
in Egypt and worldwide. He has performed in England at the Egyptian Moonlight
Show in 2006. |
